Car show planned today at Eisenhower Center

A car show sponsored by the Leavenworth Road Association will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at the Eisenhower Recreation Center parking lot, 2901 N. 72nd St., Kansas City, Kansas.

There will be a food tent, train rides and kids games.

The Gateway High Steppers will perform.

Cars of all styles, ages and conditions will be on display.

Food distribution Friday served KCK residents

A Harvesters food distribution on Friday afternoon, Feb. 26, at Sunset Hills Christian Church, 6347 Leavenworth Road, provided groceries for about 60 families, according to Lou Braswell of the Leavenworth Road Association.

The event was sponsored by the church, Leavenworth Road Association and Harvesters.

Braswell said it all went smoothly and there were no traffic problems on Leavenworth Road. Police had set up an entrance from a side street to the church, then cars exited on Leavenworth Road.

It was great weather to get out and volunteer, she said.

Braswell said the food distributions are being planned by the church once a month at this location.
