BPU to meet Wednesday

The Board of Public Utilities will meet on Wednesday, March 5.

There will be a work session at 5 p.m. and a regular meeting at 6 p.m. The BPU finance committee will meet at 4:15 p.m.

The regular meeting will be conducted by telephone and the internet.

At the regular meeting at 6 p.m., there will be a public comment time, general manager and staff reports, a COVID-19 update, preliminary January financial report, national legislative update, a pension board of trustees appointment, miscellaneous comments and board comments.

At the work session at 5 p.m., will be a board update, general manager update on BPU safety program enhancements, and report on senior management succession planning.

BPU facilities are closed to the public to reduce the risk of exposure to the coronavirus, so the meetings will be on Zoom.

The public may listen to the meetings through the internet or telephone.

Members of the community who wish to speak to the board during the regular session must be logged in to the Zoom meeting via the internet using their browser or the Zoom application. Members of the public will be asked to raise their hand to signal they wish to address the board.

During the public comment section of the agenda, community members will be asked to provide their name and address and will then have five minutes to speak.
