Shooting into vehicle reported on North 7th

A drive-by shooting from a moving vehicle was reported about 3:05 p.m. Aug. 26 in the 3100 block of North 7th Street, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

The victim was northbound on 7th Street when he saw a male stand up out of the sunroof of a sport utility vehicle and begin shooting a rifle-type weapon, according to the report.

The victim then drove to his job in Fairfax and called police, the report stated.

While he was in the parking lot, the suspects drove through again and fired more rounds, striking three more unoccupied vehicles, according to the report.

There were no injuries, the report stated.

Homicide victim on South 11th identified

A homicide victim from Aug. 25 in the 900 block of South 11th Street has been identified as Cristian Ramo-Quezada, 18, of Kansas City, Kansas, according to police.

According to a Kansas City, Kansas, police spokesman, officers were dispatched to the area about 6:24 a.m. Aug. 25 on a report of a victim in the alley.

It was the second time police had gone to the address, police stated. They were called there at 12:43 a.m. Aug. 25 on a shooting. When they arrived the first time, police found a male in his teens in the street, who had been shot, according to the spokesman. He was taken to the hospital and was in serious, but stable condition, police stated.

Homicide, shooting reported in 900 block of South 11th

A homicide and shooting were reported in the 900 block of South 11th, according to a spokesman for the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

Police officers were dispatched to the 900 block of South 11th Street at 12:43 a.m. Aug. 25 on a shooting. Officers found a male in his late teens who was shot in the street, the spokesman stated.

The shooting victim was taken to a hospital in serious but stable condition, the spokesman stated.

At 6:24 a.m. Aug 25, police received a call reporting a second victim in the alley to the east of the previous location, the spokesman stated. When they arrived, police found a male in his late teens, deceased from an apparent gunshot wound, police said.
