It was a storybook ending for the Kansas City T-Bones on Thursday night, as the tied game with Joplin wound down to the very last out of the ninth inning.
Vladimir Frias was the hero of the game, getting a two-out bases-loaded hit off Titus Pierce to win the game 5-4.
For Joplin, the first game ever played was bittersweet. The Joplin Blasters had the lead from the second through the sixth inning. In the record books as the first person to get a hit for Joplin was Yasser Gomez.
On Friday, the T-Bones play Winnipeg to start a three-game series. For ticket information, visit www.tbonesbaseball.com or call 913-328-5618.
