T-Bones launch rally in 10th inning to win 2-1
The T-Bones came back in the 10th inning Saturday night to win 2-1 over the Texas AirHogs at CommunityAmerica Ballpark in Kansas City, Kansas.
Kansas City swept the four-game series with Texas.
Kyle Petty scored on a wild pitch by Robert Tasin to give Kansas City the win in extra innings. Petty got a single to start the inning, and that was followed by a Texas error and a base hit by Tyler Horan.
The T-Bones’ Cody Winiarski was given the win for his efforts in the 10th inning. Tasin took the loss for Texas.
Chris Perry for the T-Bones and Michael Freeman for Texas both had shutouts through seven innings, but neither got the win. The game was scoreless for seven innings, then Texas scored in the eighth inning on a wild pitch from the T-Bones’ Myles Smith.
The T-Bones came back in the ninth, tying the game. Cedric Hunter singled to right, and Leo Rojas scored on the play.
Now 38-26, and contending for the division lead, the T-Bones will visit Cleburne, Lincoln and Fargo-Moorhead beginning Tuesday, returning home Aug. 10 to face Salina.
