A suspect in an armed carjacking was chased from Kansas City, Kansas, into downtown Kansas City, Mo., before 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11.
Suspects in the vehicle were said to be armed with a shotgun and handguns, according to a statement from the Kansas City, Mo., police spokesman.
While three suspects were taken into custody, a fourth suspect was fired upon when police believed the suspect was armed and commands were disregarded, the spokesman stated.
The fourth suspect was taken to a hospital, where the suspect is in critical condition, according to the police spokesman.
One shotgun and one handgun were located at the scene, the Kansas City, Mo., police spokesman stated.
The events unfolded at a parking garage near 11th and Oak in downtown Kansas City, Mo., as the four suspects tried to run, according to information from Kansas City, Mo., police.
Kansas City, Kansas, police officers took two of the suspects into custody, while the Kansas City, Mo., Police Department took the third suspect into custody, according to the spokesman.
A Kansas City, Kansas, police spokesman stated that the original call came in around 10 a.m. Dec. 11 as an armed robbery at 10th and State, near a car wash. Later, the victim found his car at 12:30 p.m. near 11th and Minnesota.
When officers arrived they saw the vehicle and went in pursuit, which ended in Missouri, the spokesman said. There were no injures at the original location in Kansas, according to the spokesman.
