Trinity AME Church, 2201 N. 5th St., is planning “Sumner Day” for all those who attended Sumner High School.
They will be recognized at the 10:15 a.m. service Sunday, June 28.
The Sumner High School class with the most number in attendance will have the class name placed on a plaque.
Sumner High School was open from 1905 to 1978 in Kansas City, Kan.
This event has been held several years, and the Class of 1966 has had the majority of the wins, according to Birdie Dean, who is working on this event. Last year, the classes of 1966 and 1967 tied for the highest number in attendance, she said.
After the worship service, a reception with light refreshments will be held.
