Storms, rain possible today

Scattered storms will continue today, though mostly across central and eastern Missouri, according to the National Weather Service.

Severe weather is not expected, but a few storms could produce wind gusts up to 40 mph, the weather service said.

While localized flooding can’t completely be ruled out, the scattered nature of the storms makes the threat very remote, according to the weather service.

Storms return Thursday night into Friday morning, the weather service said.

There is potential for severe weather from damaging winds or hail, though chances look low at this time, according to the weather service.

Today, there is a slight chance of showers in the morning, then a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11 a.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 83 with a calm wind becoming north northwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight, there is a slight, 10 percent chance of showers before 7 p.m., according to the weather service. Patchy fog is possible after 4 a.m. The low will be around 68 with a north wind of 6 mph becoming calm after midnight.

Thursday, patchy fog is possible before 7 a.m., the weather service said. It will be mostly sunny with a high near 90, and a light west southwest wind.

Thursday night, there is a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, then more showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 1 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 70 with a south wind of 5 mph becoming light and variable after midnight. Between a quarter and half-inch of rain is possible.

Friday, there is a 30 percent chance of showers, with thunderstorms possible after 1 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 86 with a west wind of 5 to 7 mph becoming northeast in the morning.

Friday night, it will be partly cloudy with a low of 69, according to the weather service.

Saturday’s forecast is mostly sunny with a high near 87, the weather service said.

Saturday night, the low will be around 70 with partly cloudy skies, according to the weather service.

Sunday, there is a 40 percent chance of showers after 1 p.m., with a high near 86, the weather service said.

Sunday night, there is a 60 percent chance of showers, mainly before 1 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 69.

Monday, there is a 30 percent chance of showers, with a high near 83, the weather service said.

Monday night, it will be partly cloudy with a low of 65, according to the weather service.

Tuesday, it will be mostly sunny with a high near 81, the weather service said.
