Storms possible Friday night

There is a chance for thunderstorms tonight and again Friday night, according to the National Weather Service.

Storms on Friday night have the potential to be strong with isolated severe storms possible north of a Kansas City to Kirksville line, the weather service said.

Thunderstorms will be possible almost every day from Saturday through the middle of next week as the pattern remains active, according to the weather service. It is too early to tell if any of these rounds of storms will be severe.

Today, it will be mostly sunny with a high near 87, the weather service said. A south wind of 5 to 11 mph will gust as high as 23 mph.

Tonight, the low will be around 65, with a south wind of 10 to 14 mph, gusting as high as 20 mph, according to the weather service.

Friday, the high will be near 89, with a south southwest wind of 11 to 18 mph, gusting as high as 25 mph, the weather service said.

Friday night, there is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a low of 71, according to the weather service. A south wind of 9 to 14 mph will gust as high as 20 mph.

Saturday, it will be partly sunny, with a high near 89, the weather service said, and a south wind of 9 to 13 mph.

Saturday night, there is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be near 67.

Sunday, it will be partly sunny with a high near 88, the weather service said.

Sunday night, the low will be around 68 with mostly cloudy skies, according to the weather service.

Monday, there is a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a high near 86, the weather service said.

Monday night, skies will be mostly cloudy with a low of 68, according to the weather service.

Tuesday, there will be a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a high near 86, the weather service said.

Tuesday night, expect a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a low of 66, according to the weather service.

Wednesday, there is a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a high near 85, the weather service said.
