Today in Wyandotte County, there will be mild weather, with a high of 83 and sunny skies, according to the National Weather Service.

On Saturday, an unstable air mass will develop over the region, putting Wyandotte County at a slight risk for severe weather, the weather service said.

Widespread storm development is expected Saturday afternoon, with all modes of severe weather possible. The most widespread severe activity is expected to start on Saturday near the Kansas City metropolitan area and then move to the east, with the strongest activity likely south of I-70, according to the weather service.

Today, expect a high of 83 with a light and variable wind becoming north 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon, the weather service said.

According to the weather forecast, the best days of the Memorial Day weekend will be Friday, Sunday and Monday, while Saturday will have a 50 percent chance of rain and storms.

Tonight, there will be partly cloudy skies with a low of 65 and a north northeast wind of 6 mph becoming calm in the evening, according to the weather service.

Saturday, there is a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 81 with an east wind of 6 to 8 mph. Between a tenth and quarter of an inch of rain is possible.

On Saturday night, there will be a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 60, with a north wind of 9 mph.

Sunday, it will be mostly sunny with a high near 78, the weather service said, and a northwest wind of 7 to 13 mph.

Sunday night, it will be mostly clear with a low of 57, according to the weather service.

On Monday, Memorial Day, it will be sunny with a high near 79, the weather service said.

Monday night, the low will be around 56 with mostly clear skies, according to the weather service.

Tuesday, expect mostly sunny skies with a high of 77, the weather service said.
