Two primary rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected today, the National Weather Service said.
The First will occur during the late morning into the afternoon. This will probably be the most widespread rainfall today, according to the weather service.

A second round of storms will develop over eastern Kansas during the evening hours, the weather service said. Some of these storms will have the potential to become strong to severe.

A slight risk of severe weather is located to the south of the Kansas City area. A few stronger storms are possible, the weather service said.

If storms become strong to briefly severe, hazards include gusty winds and hail up to 1 inch in diameter.

The forecast for Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas, calls for a slight chance of showers before 10 a.m., then the chance of showers and thunderstorms increases to 70 percent between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., and showers and a thunderstorm are possible after 2 p.m. The high will be near 71, with a south wind of 10 to 16 mph, gusting as high as 36 mph. Between a tenth and a quarter of an inch of rain is possible.

Tonight, there is a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 10 p.m., then showers and a possible thunderstorm after 1 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 51, with a southeast wind of 5 to 8 mph becoming north after midnight. Between a tenth and quarter-inch of rain is possible.

Saturday, expect a 60 percent chance of showers mainly before 1 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 56. A north northwest wind will be from 8 to 10 mph. Between a tenth and a quarter-inch of rain is possible.

Saturday night, there is a 20 percent chance of showers before 1 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 44, with a north northwest wind of 5 to 9 mph.

Sunday, expect partly sunny skies with a high of 64, the weather service said. There will be a northwest wind of 3 to 5 mph.

Sunday night, there is an 80 percent chance of showers, according to the weather service. The low will be around 49. Between a quarter and half-inch of rain is possible.

Monday, expect a 50 percent chance of showers before 1 p.m., with a high near 63, the weather service said.

Monday night, the low will be around 45 with mostly cloudy skies, according to the weather service.
