Storm aftermath BPU crews worked on restoring power after two storms with high winds, heavy rain and lightning this morning in Wyandotte County. This crew was on 72nd Street, north of Parallel Parkway. At 12:12 p.m., the BPU power outage map showed more than 2,700 BPU customers without power, down from over 5,000 this morning. Stoplights near 81st and Parallel Parkway were blinking on Friday morning, after two storms in the area. Residents near Parallel Parkway and 76th Street were busy taking care of tree limbs that came down during two storms on Friday morning. More limbs were down on 82nd Street near Freeman in the aftermath of two storms on Friday morning. Tree limbs and leaves were seen on 69th Street north of State Avenue after two storms on Friday morning. More tree limbs and leaves were on 70th Street south of Parallel Parkway after two storms on Friday morning.
