The Wyandotte County District Attorney this afternoon charged Heather Jones, 29, Kansas City, Kan., with first-degree felony murder and child abuse in connection with the death of a child known as A.J.
Heather Jones is currently in the Wyandotte County Jail. Bond was set at $5 million, according to the district attorney’s office. She will make a first appearance in Wyandotte County District Court on Dec. 14, 2015, at an unknown time.
The district attorney also added a charge of first-degree felony murder in connection with the death of A.J., against Michael A. Jones, who was previously charged with child abuse.
He remains in the Wyandotte County Jail. His bond was set at $10 million.
Both individuals charged are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty, according to a statement from the district attorney’s office.
