A forum for the candidates for State Board of Education, 1st District, will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1300 N. 18th St., Kansas City, Kan.
The forum is sponsored by Kansas Citizens for Science, and co-sponsors include the MainStream Coalition Foundation and Historic Westheight Neighborhood Association.
Candidates will include incumbent Janet Waugh, a Democrat; and challenger Nancy Klemp, a Republican.
The forum is open to the public. Public education issues will be addressed. Most of the forum will be questions from the audience.
