Midfielder Felipe Gutierrez underwent successful sports hernia surgery on Tuesday and will be sidelined for two to three months, according to Sporting KC.
Gutierrez, 27, arrived at Sporting KC in February after spending the first eight years of his professional career in Chile, Netherlands and Spain.
Sporting KC returns to Children’s Mercy Park on Saturday to play host to the Colorado Rapids at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available via SeatGeek.com, and the first 10,000 fans through the stadium gates will receive a Matt Besler bobblehead.
