Sporting KC will kick off its 21st season in MLS on Sunday, hitting the road to face Seattle Sounders FC at 6 p.m. CT in a nationally televised match on FS1 and FOX Deportes.
The game at CenturyLink Field will also be broadcast live in Spanish on La Grande 1340 AM.
Supporters are encouraged to attend the official watch party for the match at No Other Pub, a new entertainment venue located on the second level of the Kansas City Live! Block in the Power & Light District (1370 Grand Blvd.). In addition, The Final Whistle: Sporting KC Postgame Show will air immediately following Sunday’s match on Sports Radio 810 WHB with hosts Dave Borchardt and Carter Augustine.
Sporting KC has advanced to the MLS Cup Playoffs in each of the last five seasons and is the only club to win three major trophies since 2012, having lifted the 2012 and 2015 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cups and the 2013 MLS Cup. One of nine MLS charter members still in existence, Sporting KC will play its home opener on March 12 against Vancouver Whitecaps FC at Children’s Mercy Park (the former Sporting Park) near I-70 and I-435 in Kansas City, Kan.
