Sporting Kansas City announced on Monday that the club has mutually agreed to part ways with midfielder Peterson Joseph.
The 24-year-old appeared in 36 MLS matches (including postseason), three CONCACAF Champions League fixtures and three U.S. Open Cup victories since joining the team in September 2011. He recorded two assists across all competition, the first coming in a 3-2 win over Orlando City SC (USL PRO) in the 2012 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and the second came on the game-winning goal in a 2-0 win at Columbus in July 2012.
A Haiti international, Joseph has been on the disabled list since the start of the 2014 season and his last appearance for the club came in October 2013. Today’s transaction will make available an international roster spot on the Sporting Kansas City roster.
