Snow was falling in Wyandotte County at 9 a.m. Monday.
According to the National Weather Service, Wyandotte County is under a winter weather advisory until noon on Monday, Veterans Day.
Less than a half-inch of snow is predicted today, the weather service said. There is a chance of freezing drizzle mixed in with the snow.
Slippery road conditions and limited visibility are possible with this snowfall, according to the weather service.
This morning, KC Scout was reporting accidents at northbound I-635 near K-5 and on I-35 near Mission Road and 18th Street Expressway.
Motorists are advised to use caution and to check road conditions before they leave, the weather service said. KC Scout shows conditions of area highways at www.kcscout.net.
The temperature at 9 a.m. was 22 degrees, with a wind chill reading of 6, according to the weather service.
Today, Veterans Day, snow is likely, possibly mixed with freezing drizzle before 1 p.m., then a slight chance of snow between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 27 with a north wind of 15 to 20 mph, gusting as high as 34 mph. Little or no ice accumulation is predicted. Less than a half-inch of snow is in the forecast.
Tonight, it will be clear with a low of 11 and a north wind of 6 to 13 mph, gusting as high as 23 mph, according to the weather service.
Tuesday, it will be sunny with a high near 30 and a light and variable wind becoming south 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon, the weather service said.
Tuesday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 22 and a south wind of 5 to 10 mph, gusting as high as 21 mph, according to the weather service.
Wednesday, it will be partly sunny with a high near 45 and a south southwest wind of 6 to 13 mph, gusting as high as 28 mph, the weather service said.
