Slowing traffic resulted in injury-accident on I-635

An accident at 7:24 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, on I-635 two-tenths of a mile north of State Avenue resulted in an injury, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s crash log.

A Nissan Altima and a Honda Accord were southbound on I-635 and traffic was moving slowly, according to the trooper’s report. Only one lane was open and two lanes were blocked by cones.

As traffic started to slow, the Altima wasn’t able to slow in time and struck the Accord from behind, according to the trooper’s report.

The driver of the Altima, a 42-year-old man from Kansas City, Kansas, was not injured, according to the report.

The driver of the Accord, a 21-year-old man from Olathe, Kansas, had a possible injury and was taken to a hospital, the report stated.

A 28-year-old woman passenger in the Accord, from Olathe, Kansas, also had a possible injury and was taken to a hospital, according to the report.

A 24-year-old woman passenger in the Accord, from Kansas City, Missouri, also had a possible injury and was taken to a hospital, the report stated.
