Wet roads may combine with temperatures falling below freezing late tonight to produce a potential for black ice on area roads or bridges that have not been treated, according to the National Weather Service.
It’s not certain exactly where the slick areas may be, but areas most affected by the combination of wet roads and cold temperatures will be south and east of I-35, according to the weather service.
Drivers are advised to exercise caution if out driving now through mid-Monday morning when temperatures will warm back above freezing, the weather service said.
Also, a dense fog advisory is in effect until 8 a.m. Monday, according to the weather service.
Fog will reduce visibilities to one-quarter mile or less. Fog with reduced visibilities, plus potentially slick roads could make for difficult driving conditions, according to the weather service.
Motorists are advised to slow down, use headlights and leave plenty of distance ahead of them.
Sunday night’s low will be around 29, according to the weather service.
Monday’s high will be near 44 with a light and variable wind, the weather service said.
