Showers, storms in forecast today, tonight

Widespread showers and isolated storms are possible Thursday afternoon through Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

No severe weather is expected.

According to the forecast, rain may begin in the region after noon Thursday, with isolated thunderstorms from 3 to 8 p.m. Lightning is possible.

Below normal temperatures are in the forecast for the rest of the week, with highs in the 60s and lows are in the 40s, according to the weather service. There will be a possible frost or freeze Saturday morning.

Today, there is an 80 percent chance of showers, mainly after 2 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 61 with a calm wind becoming south 5 to 7 mph in the morning. Between a tenth and quarter-inch of rain is likely.

Tonight, there is an 80 percent chance of showers, mainly before 4 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be 47 with a light and variable wind becoming north 6 to 11 mph after midnight. Winds may gust as high as 20 mph. Between a quarter and half-inch of rain is possible.

Friday, there is a 30 percent chance of showers before 7 a.m., with a high near 58, the weather service said. A north wind of 13 to 16 mph will gust as high as 28 mph. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is possible.

Friday night, it will be clear, with a low about 37, according to the weather service, and a north northwest wind of 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Saturday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 64 and a calm wind becoming south southwest around 6 mph in the morning, the weather service said.

Saturday night, there is a 20 percent chance of showers before 1 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 43.

Sunday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 61, the weather service said.

Sunday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 40, according to the weather service.

Monday, there is a 30 percent chance of showers, with a high near 58, the weather service said.

Monday night, there is a 40 percent chance of showers after 1 a.m., with a low of 45, according to the weather service.

Tuesday, there is a 60 percent chance of showers, with a high near 58, the weather service said.

Tuesday night, there is a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a low of 49, according to the weather service.

Wednesday, there is a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a high near 68, the weather service said.
