Wyandotte County Sheriff’s officials said this morning that a suspect was barricaded at 55th and Everett after a shooting at Welborn Park at 55th and Jodee Lane in Kansas City, Kansas.
At about 7:09 a.m. Wednesday, the Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting at Welborn Park, according to a spokesman.
A woman in her late 20s was found with apparent gunshot wounds, the spokesman stated. She was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to the Sheriff’s spokesman.
The suspect, a male, left the scene in a gold sport utility vehicle, according to authorities. He was later barricaded at 55th and Everett, the spokesman stated.
The incident is under investigation by the Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Unit.
