Wyandotte County Sheriff Don Ash said in an interview today his department currently is in the planning stages for a new youth center.
“We are also planning the jail renovation to occur when the weather gets better,” he said.
The Sheriff’s Department received an increase to hire eight new positions for 2017, he said.
They currently don’t know what the budget would be for 2018, he said, and budget discussions for that year are now taking place.
