A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for Wyandotte County until 7 p.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
The surrounding area also is under a severe thunderstorm watch, including Johnson, Leavenworth and other northeast Kansas counties, as well as the Kansas City area on the Missouri side of the state line.
The storm is currently to the northwest of Wyandotte County, north of Manhattan, Kansas, and moving to the southeast.
