A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect from Saturday night through 3 a.m. Sunday, May 26, according to the National Weather Service.
Wyandotte County has a slight chance of severe storms tonight, the weather service said. These storms could include dime to quarter-size hail and 40-50 mph winds with isolated gusts to 60 mph.
A flash flood watch is in effect through 7 a.m. Sunday, according to the weather service. Rainfall from Saturday through Sunday morning could total 1 to 1.5 inches.
Continued rain could make flooding worse on the Missouri and Kansas rivers, which are currently in minor flood stage in Wyandotte County.
From 2 to 3 inches of rain could fall in Wyandotte County during the next seven days, according to the weather service.
