A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Wyandotte County, according to the National Weather Service.
The warning will continue from 12:36 a.m. until 1:15 a.m. Saturday.
At 12:36 a.m. Saturday, a severe thunderstorm was seen near McLouth, or 8 miles north of Tonganoxie, moving east at 40 mph, the weather service said.
This storm has ping pong ball size hail and 60 mph winds.
People and animals outdoors could be injured in this storm, the weather service said. It may cause hail damage to roofs, siding, windows and vehicles. There could be wind damage to roofs, siding and trees.
Residents are advised to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building, according to the weather service.
