A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for northwestern Wyandotte County until 4:45 p.m. Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.
Also under a thunderstorm warning are northeastern Leavenworth County and central Platte County.
This storm was located near Lansing, Kansas, at 4:12 p.m., moving north at 25 mph.
It includes 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-size hail. Hail damage to vehicles is possible, along with wind damage to roofs, siding and trees.
Wolcott, Kansas City, Kansas, and Pomeroy are among the areas in Wyandotte County that can be in the path of the storm.
Residents are advised to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of the building.
