The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Wyandotte County from 8:40 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. Sept. 10.
The thunderstorm warning also is in effect for central Leavenworth County, northern Johnson County and southeastern Platte County.
At 8:38 p.m., a thunderstorm was located over Bonner Springs, moving northeast at 30 mph.
Hail damage is expected, the weather service said. There is a chance of 60 mph wind gusts and half-dollar size hail.
