Here are several Halloween events we have heard of in Wyandotte County:
Oct. 28
Main Library plans Halloween party
Children, tweens and teens may attend a Halloween party from 6 to 7:45 p.m. Oct. 28 at the Main Library, 625 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, Kan. The event will include a mystery theater, trick or treating, music, and food craft. Costumes are optional.
Dinosaur-style Halloween celebration planned
The T-Rex Café will hold a Spooktacular Halloween from 5 to 9 p.m. Oct. 28 at 1847 Village West Parkway, Kansas City, Kan. Dexter the Dino will be present, and there will be themed activities. Oct. 29
Trick or treat at library
Children and tweens may trick or treat at the West Wyandotte Library, 1737 N. 82nd, from 11 a.m. to noon Oct. 29. Children may wear Halloween costumes and trick or treat around the library. The event is for children ages 0 to 12. Children under 9 must be accompanied by an adult.
Life-sized haunted Candyland game planned
The South Library is planning a life-sized haunted Candyland game from 5 to 8 pm.. Oct. 29 at the library, Meeting Room A and B, at 3104 Strong Ave., Kansas City, Kan. The event is for all ages. Those participating can collect candy and prizes.
Oct. 30
Halloween Party planned Oct. 30
The Providence YMCA plans a Spooktacular Halloween Party for young children in the community. Activities include Mad-Funny Science Lab, Friendly Haunted Hall, Bounce House, arts and crafts. The event is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at 8601 Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, Kan. The fee is $3 per child, and children may wear costumes. Registration takes place at the front desk of the Providence YMCA, or call 913-387-9622.
Children to create witch hats in craft class
Children will make fun crafts and learn shapes, colors and basic words and sentences in Spanish or English at bilingual craft time from 4 to 5 p.m. Oct. 30 at the South Library storytime area, 3104 Strong Ave., Kansas City, Kan. On Oct. 30 the children will make witch hats.
Oct. 31
Safe Halloween event planned Saturday, Oct. 31
A safe Halloween event for children will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at the Eisenhower Recreation Center, 2901 N. 72nd, Kansas City, Kan. There will be free hot dogs and candy for children, with games planned. The event is sponsored by the Leavenworth Road Association, Eisenhower Center, Wyandotte County Parks and Recreation and MultiplyKC.CC. The event is accepting donations and volunteers. Alcott sponsoring safe trick or treat event
Alcott Arts Center, 180 S. 18th, is planning a trick or treat event from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 31. The event is in need of donations. There will be face painting, and a personalized poster. For more information, visit www.alcottartscenter.org/Alcott_Arts_Center/Welcome.html.
