Several Kansas roads closed because of flooding

The Kansas Department of Transportation reported these closed roads at 7 a.m. Friday, June 5:

K-5 over Seven-Mile Creek in Leavenworth County was closed due to high flood waters over the roadway.

K-9 in Marshall County over the Black Vermillion River (between mile markers 248-250) was closed due to high flood waters over the roadway.

K-87 from the K-9 junction south to the Village of Vilets in Marshall County was closed to high flood waters over the roadway.

K-18 over Deep Creek in Riley County was closed due to high flood waters over the roadway.

K-116 east of Larkinburg at the Atchison/Jackson County line was closed due to high flood waters over the roadway.

One road, K-187 north of Centralia in Nemaha County, reopened to all traffic after flood waters over the roadway receded.

For closed roads, drivers must use alternate routes until further notice, a KDOT spokesman said. Do not attempt to drive through flooded or high water on roadways.
