Kansas City, Kan., police reported an injury collision about 5:20 p.m. Feb. 27 near 73rd and Parallel Parkway.
There were life-threatening injuries to one person, according to police.
A Chevy truck traveling eastbound on Parallel Parkway struck a Chevy Monte Carlo car attempting to turn south to the KCKCC campus on Campus Boulevard, the police spokesman said.
The car was occupied by two males in their mid-teens, according to police. A passenger in this car was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, while the driver was transported with minor injuries, the police spokesman said.
The driver of the truck was not injured, the spokesman said.
The truck struck the vehicle, then hit a pole. The car, after being struck, went down the hill and struck the fence of the ball field, according to the police spokesman.
No one attending the game was struck or injured, the police spokesman said.
The accident remains under investigation by the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department’s Traffic Support Unit – Critical Collision Response Team (CCRT).
