T-Bones come from behind to win 5-4
T-Bones infielder Jake Blackwood hit a three-run home run in the eighth inning to lead Kansas City to a 5-4 victory over the Wichita Wingnuts on Sunday afternoon at CommunityAmerica Ballpark, Kansas City, Kan.
With the win, the T-Bones swept the three-game series with Wichita.

In four innings, T-Bones starting pitcher Casey Barnes gave up one run and five hits, striking out two and giving up no walks. Kris Regas pitched the final 1 2/3 innings for the win, while Fernando Hernandez recorded the final out of the game for the save.
Wichita’s starter, Jason Van Skike, allowed two hits and one run in 6 1/3 innings, and Wichita led 4-1 going into the bottom of the eighth.
In the eighth inning, T-Bones’ Jacob Hayes and Nate Tenbrink were on base when Jacob Blackwood blasted a three-run home run over the left field wall against Wichita’s closer, Matt Nevarez. The T-Bones went ahead 5-4.
Rain halted play for 33 minutes during the bottom of the second but that didn’t seem to deter the Father’s Day crowd of 4,684.
