An injury-accident was reported at 7:15 a.m. today on I-35 southbound, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
According to the trooper’s report, a semi driven by a 67-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man was southbound in the left lane on I-35 near Johnson Drive in Merriam when it was unable to brake in time and hit a Honda passenger car.
After the impact, the Peterbilt semi also struck the center concrete barrier, according to the report.
The driver of the Honda, a 28-year-old Kansas City, Mo., man, was injured and taken to a hospital in Johnson County, according to the trooper’s report.
The driver of the semi was not injured, the trooper’s report stated.
