Second victim of shooting near 62nd and Haskell dies

Victims’ identification released

A second victim has died after a shooting at 9:07 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6, in the 6100 block of Haskell Avenue, according to a police spokesman.

The victim who died at the scene of the shooting was Le’Andrew M. Vaughn, 17, a resident of Kansas City, Kansas, the spokesman stated.

The second victim, who was critically injured and died at a hospital as a result of injuries sustained in the shooting, was identified as Adarius Barber, 16, also of Kansas City, Kansas.

There also was a third young man who was shot and had non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. All were juvenile males, and were found inside a vehicle.

The homicides are under investigation by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division, which is encouraging anyone with information to call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
