A search warrant was served on Wednesday, Aug. 3, at the Unified Government, according to a news release from the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.
According to the news release, the search warrant relates to an ongoing investigation into allegations made against certain personnel of the UG.
The KBI stated in the news release that the Wyandotte County District Attorney’s office received information, reviewed it and determined an investigation was warranted.
Then the KBI initiated the case on June 23, according to the release. The county administrator’s office and mayor’s office are fully cooperating with the investigation, the news release stated.
No arrests have been made, according to the KBI, and the investigation remains ongoing.
A spokesman for the UG, Krystal McFeders, stated:
“The County Administrator’s Office and the Mayor’s Office are cooperating fully with the investigators. While the investigation remains ongoing, we are unable to otherwise comment on the matter.”
