Schlitterbahn Verruckt tower to come down

The tower of the Verruckt ride at the Schlitterbahn water park in Kansas City, Kansas, is scheduled to come down today, according to a Schlitterbahn spokeswoman. After that, a big section of the tower will come down, scheduled either today or later this week. A lot of the Verruckt ride already has been taken down. Owners and designers of the ride are facing charges in Wyandotte County District Court in connection with the death of a boy on the ride in August 2016. A co-owner, Jeff Henry, also has a court date scheduled this afternoon in Johnson County District Court on charges relating to drug possession. (Staff photo)
