Scenes from the Leavenworth Road Parade
The Leavenworth Road Parade took place Sunday, Sep. 17, with more than 46 parade entries travelling the route from 72nd to 51st street along Leavenworth Road.
The parade was sponsored by the Leavenworth Road Association, and featured three marching bands, several dance groups, equestrian groups, and many others.
Spectators gathered all along the route, with large crowds near the 59th and 55th Street intersections and at the review stand at 51st Street.

I appreciate all the people who participated in LRA’s 32nd Annual Parade.
From the volunteers who helped before and after in setting up at the staging areas to picking up trash after the parade.
Especially appreciate our security & traffic control: COPPS, Sheriff’s Dept. and KCKPS Police Dept….Thank you!
The energy of the people walking/riding in the parade is amazing.
I love seeing the community come out in support of this annual event.
Thank you!

We couldn’t do it without you!
Thank you had a great time. Thx again
I may be a dreamer, what if Tyson could place their new plant at 47th and State Ave.? Old Indian Springs location? This would mean more employment for Wyandotte County. They could make it a destination for tourists. A Tyson theme park of sorts there could be chicken restaurants, hotels, a Tyson Chicken Park for green space. There could be a Giant Chicken above that can be seen for miles. There are so many options I can’t believe the Wyco government people haven’t thought of this. My thoughts are free, any thing to promote the Dotte.
