Scenes from the Dash KCK and Library in the Park event on Saturday, Sept. 15, at Big Eleven Lake, 11th and State Avenue, Kansas City, Kansas.
The Dash KCK, a 5K run-walk, started at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Beatrice Lee Community Center, 1310 N. 10th St. It was next to the Library in the Park event.
The Library in the Park event included an appearance by Derrick Barnes, author of “CROWN: An Ode to the Fresh Cut,” and a children’s book giveaway.
Local music groups performed and a taco competition was held with taco restaurants in Kansas City, Kansas.
