Fundraiser breakfast to be Saturday
The Tyler Jobe fundraising breakfast will be held from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Jan. 23 at Piper High School, 4400 N. 107th St., Kansas City, Kan. Proceeds go toward scholarships.

Eagle Days planned Jan. 23-24 at Wyandotte County Lake
The 15th annual Eagle Days event is planned Jan. 23-24 at Wyandotte County Lake. The event will be held at two locations, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, and noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 24, at the Mr. and Mrs. F.L. Schlagle Library at the lake; and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24, at Davis Hall at the lake. Birds of prey presentations will be held at both locations. Those presentations are at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, and 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Sunday. Operation Wildlife will have live birds of prey on exhibit, including owls, hawks, falcons and eagles, and will give presentations that talk about the birds and their natural history. There will be crafts for kids, and eagle and waterfowl viewing over the lake. The event is free and open to the public. Enroll for health insurance
Enroll Wyandotte will be at the South Library, 3104 Strong Ave., Meeting Room A, Kansas City, Kan., from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 23 to help people prepare for enrolling for health coverage.

Learn sewing and quilting at the library
Sewing and quilting for beginners or for those who want to learn more will be offered from 10 am. to noon Saturday, Jan. 23, at the West Wyandotte Library, Kansas City, Kan., Public Library, children’s craft room, 1737 N. 82nd, Kansas City, Kan. The class is for adults, and for those ages 10 and older. There is a limit of 15. Advance registration is requested to the library. Those who register get priority.

Crazy science experiments offered
A class on crazy science experiments will be offered from noon to 1 p.m. Jan. 23 at the Turner Community Library, 831 S. 55th, Kansas City, Kan. The class is for ages 5 and up. It will be a hands-on program so dress appropriately. Registration is required to the library at 913-596-1404.

Learn how marbles are made
A marble-making demonstration is scheduled from about 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at Moon Marble Co. store, 600 E. Front St., Bonner Springs. Demonstrations begin around 10 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. and end at about 3 p.m., provided a glass artist is available.

Wine-tasting planned

The Wine Barn Winery and Vineyard, 2850 N. 119th St., is scheduled to hold a wine tasting of local handcrafted wines from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23. For more information, call 913-721-5577.

The Brendan McNaughton Band is scheduled to play live music at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at Jazz, A Louisiana Kitchen, at The Legends Outlets, 1859 Village West Parkway, Kansas City, Kan., (at I-70 and I-435).
