Shepherd’s Center to hold pancake fundraiser Saturday
The Shepherd’s Center of Kansas City, Kan., will hold a fundraising pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Kansas City Kansas Community College Conference Center, 7250 State Ave., Kansas City, Kan. Pancakes, sausage, eggs, juice and coffee will be $8. The charge for those who have student identifications will be $6. The Shepherd’s Center of Kansas City, Kan., is an interfaith, multicultural nonprofit organization that promotes and supports successful aging. Its next Adventures in Learning program will be Nov. 20 at the Grace Lutheran Church, 3333 Wood Ave., Kansas City, Kan. Information offered about health insurance
Enroll Wyandotte will be at the South Branch Library of the Kansas City, Kan., Public Library, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at Meeting Room A, 3104 Strong Ave. Residents may get information about how to sign up for health coverage.

Church plans Holiday Mart
A Holiday Mart is planned from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, in the Cole Activity Center at Stony Point Christian Church, 149 S. 78th St., Kansas City, Kan. Vendors and crafters will have items for sale. Refreshments will be available. Proceeds of the Holiday Mart will be used to fund the young adult mission trip to Haiti in 2016.

Children’s Thanksgiving craft planned
Children may make a little Thanksgiving turkey favor in a craft class from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Main Kansas City, Kan., Public Library, storytime-craft room, 625 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, Kan. Inside the turkey favor tin will be a place to hide a Thanksgiving Day snack. The craft is for ages 4 to 12. Registration is required to 913-279-2216.

American GI Forum program planned
The American GI Forum series, “Justice for My People,” will continue from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at the South Branch Library, Kansas City, Kan., Public Library, 3104 Strong Ave., Kansas City, Kan. A presentation will be given by Rudy Padilla about Dr. Hector P. Garcia, Mexican refugee, medical doctor to the barrios, decorated war veteran, civil rights activist and presidential confidante – who brought attention to the Mexican-American civil rights movement.

Chili supper planned

The Altar Society of Holy Family Church will hold a chili supper and turkey bingo at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Monsignor Mejak Hall, 513 Ohio, Kansas City, Kan. A chili supper dessert and drink will be served from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. Bingo starts at 7:30 p.m. The donation is $15 for the chili super and one bingo card. Those attending must be 21 and older. Bishop Ward presents play
Bishop Ward High School is presenting the fall play production of “I Hate Shakespeare!” by Steph DeFerie. The audience will get a rip-roaring rundown of Shakespeare’s classics. With zombies, talking cows, and an appearance by someone playing Jerry Springer, “I Hate Shakespeare!” is a hilarious and fast-paced introduction to Shakespeare with a modern twist. Bishop Ward will present the production at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, in the Willard L. Phillips Memorial Auditorium at the high school, 708 N. 18th. Tickets are $7 for adults, and $5 for students. Children under 6, clergy, and seniors 65 and older are admitted for free.

Piper offers ‘Sound of Music’ performance
Piper High School will present its fall musical performance at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, in the Piper High School auditorium, 4400 N. 107th, Kansas City, Kan. “The Sound of Music” will be presented. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students.

Wyandotte County Museum open
The Wyandotte County Museum, 631 N. 126th St., Bonner Springs, is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. It is closed on Sundays and holidays.
