Strawberry Hill Museum plans courtyard sale July 18
The Strawberry Hill Museum, 720 N. 4th St., Kansas City, Kan., is planning a courtyard sale beginning early Saturday morning, July 18. For more information call 913-371-3264. The museum is open on the weekends. The museum is open from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The admission charge is $7 for adults, $3 for children 6 to 12, and free for children under 6. Special tours are available during the week for groups of 20 or more by calling 913-721-0081. The museum’s tea room is open from 1 to 4 p.m. on the second Saturday and Sunday of each month. Book sale planned at Bonner Springs library
The Friends of the Bonner library are planning a book sale from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the basement storm shelter area of the library at 201 N. Nettleton, Bonner Springs. That area can be easily reached from the parking lot in back of the library. A large selection of hardback fiction is offered for 50 cents each, and nothing costs more than $1. Paperbacks are four for $1 or fill a bag of paperback romance novels for just $1. There is a large selection of westerns, many by favorite western authors, a great number of children’s books and nonfiction in all categories, as well as many cookbooks. All proceeds from the book sales are used to enhance the library’s offering to the public. Recently the Friends have donated $800 to the summer reading program and $500 toward the purchase of an electronic bulletin board inside the library. The Friends organization is open to anyone with dues at only $5 a year, and monthly meetings are at 4 p.m. on the third Tuesday.

The “Live at the Legends” concert series will continue at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 18, at The Legends Outlets, I-70 and I-435, Kansas City, Kan. Performing July 11 will be Perpetual Change, 1980s and 1990s rock (with some hits from the 2000s).
