Rosedale Retro Run will be May 30
The Rosedale Retro Run, a 5k-fun run, has been canceled Saturday, May 9. It is being rescheduled for May 30. There also will be a community trail work day and a mountain bike jam. There will be a finish line party at Fisher Park. Race registration will be $20 per person in advance and $25 on the day of the race. Kids may participate for free. Classic car show planned
A Classic Car Cruise is planned from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 30, at 500 Kindleberger Road, Kansas City, Kan. The event will be sponsored by the UAW Local 31.

Friends of Bonner Library to sponsor mini book sale

Friends of the Bonner Library are having a mini book sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 30, in the storm shelter on the bottom level of the library which is located at 201 N. Nettleton in Bonner Springs. For those who attended the last sale there are a great number of new donations, fiction, non-fiction and children’s books. Because of the large selection there will be many specials available – a plastic grocery bag of romance will be $1, paperbacks are offered at 4 for $1 and hardbacks, many of which are like new will be only 50 cents. All money raised benefits the library, the Friends have recently given $800 to the summer reading program and will donate $500 toward an electronic message board which will be installed inside the library.

Learn how to make leather and bead bracelets
A program on making leather and bead bracelets is offered at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 30, at the Main Library, 625 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, Kan. Those attending will make a bracelet from leather and beads. This program is for adults. Teens may attend if they are accompanied by an adult. There is a $6 fee for supplies. Summer reading kickoff party
A summer reading program kickoff party is planned from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 30, at the West Wyandotte Library auditorium, 1737 N. 82nd, Kansas City, Kan. Special guests at this party will be firefighters, police officers and other emergency staff. There will be crafts and face painting before a special Mad Science show scheduled at 1 p.m. The program is free and open to the public. Children younger than 9 must be accompanied by an adult.

Church groups hold bake and garage sale
From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 30, the church trustees will hold a garage sale and the United Methodist Women are having a bake sale at Wyandotte United Methodist Church, 7901 Oakland Ave., Kansas City, Kan.
