Free Kiwanis bike rodeo today at Schlitterbahn
A free Kiwanis bike rodeo will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 16, at Schlitterbahn Waterpark, 9400 State Ave. There is no charge for this event. Elementary school children and their parents may attend and get free bike helmets and T-shirts, for the first 300 children. Kids fishing derby planned Saturday

Urban American Outdoors TV and the Kansas City Kansas Community College will hold the 10th annual Urban Kids Fishing Derby on Saturday, May 16. The Saturday fishing experience and celebration will be held on May 16, at the Kansas City Kansas Community College duck pond next to the Conference Center, located on the south end of the campus at 7250 State Ave., Kansas City, Kan. Church offers day of family fun
The New Bethel Church, 745 Walker Ave., Kansas City, Kan., will have a Family 101: 5K Walk-Run, a community block party and health fair from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 16, at the church, 745 Walker Ave. The block party and fair is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and includes games, food, contests, health screenings, races, and more. Sporting KC to play Colorado Rapids tonight in KCK
Sporting KC (3-2-5, 14 points) begins a two-game home stand at 7:30 p.m. Saturday with the Colorado Rapids at Sporting Park in Kansas City, Kan. It will be Sporting KC’s 100th match at Sporting Park since the stadium opened June 9, 2011. The match will be shown live locally on KMCI-TV 38 the Spot and across the Midwest on SKCTV with coverage beginning at 7 p.m. Following the match, a Special Olympics Unified Sports exchange game will be held at Sporting Park between Special Olympics Kansas and Special Olympics Colorado. Exhibit on Prohibition visits Wyandotte County Museum
“Spirited: Prohibition in America,” a National Endowment for the Humanities traveling exhibition, will visit the Wyandotte County Museum from April 6 to May 25. The exhibit covers the history of Prohibition, which started in 1919 and continued 13 years. The museum is at 631 N. 126th St., Bonner Springs. Hours of the exhibit are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. The exhibit is free to the public. Strawberry Hill Museum open on weekends
The Strawberry Hill Museum, 720 N. 4th St., Kansas City, Kan., is open on the weekends. The museum is open from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The admission charge is $7 for adults, $3 for children 6 to 12, and free for children under 6. Special tours are available during the week for groups of 20 or more by calling 913-721-0081.
