Grinter Place plans ‘Saturdays by the Grinter Stove’
“Saturdays by the Grinter Stove” is planned from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at Grinter Place Historic Site, 1420 S. 78th St., Kansas City, Kan. Those attending will hear a Kansas City area history presentation and stay for lunch prepared on the Grinter wood stove. This series continues each month through March 14. Strawberry Hill Museum open for holidays

The Strawberry Hill Museum, 720 N. 4th St., Kansas City, Kan., has opened for the holidays and will remain open on weekends through Sunday, Jan. 26. The museum, decorated in Victorian style, is open from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, with special tours available by appointment. Project Feederwatch continues
Project Feederwatch continues at the Schlagle Environmental Library at Wyandotte County Lake Park, 91st and Leavenworth Road. The bird count is planned each Saturday when people sign up in advance. Binoculars and field guides are available at the library. For more information, call 913-299-2384.

Book sale planned today
The Schlagle Environmental Library at Wyandotte County Park, 91st and Leavenworth Road, plans a book sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10. Science, nature reference, fiction and nonfiction books and DVDs for all ages will be in the used book sale. The books will be from 25 cents to $2 per item.

How to make fingerless gloves
A craft class for adults and senior adults on how to make no-sew fingergless gloves will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Jan. 10 at the Main Kansas City, Kan., Public Library, 625 Minnesota Ave. The class uses knee-high socks, scissors and fabric glue. Teens are welcome if accomopanied by an adult. There is a $2 fee for supplies. Call 913-279-2066 to register.

Enroll for health insurance
Staff from the Community Health Council of Wyandotte County will assist adults in enrolling for health insurance from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at the South Library, 3401 Strong Ave., Kansas City, Kan. Assistance in Burmese will be available early and assistance in Spanish will be available later.
Another opportunity to enroll for health insurance will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Jan. 10 at the West Wyandotte Library auditorium, 1727 N. 82nd, Kansas City, Kan. Enroll Wyandotte will help answer questions.
