Two races today at Kansas Speedway

Two races, an ARCA race and a NASCAR Camping World truck race, are planned today at the Kansas Speedway. The Dutch Boy 150, ARCA Menards series race, will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Kansas Speedway, 400 Speedway Blvd., Kansas City, Kansas. The Heart of America 200, Camping World truck series, will take place at 7 p.m. Saturday. A fireworks show will follow the Heart of America race. Rosedale anniversary exhibit at Wyandotte County Museum

Strawberry Hill Museum plans tours


The Strawberry Hill Museum, 720 N. 4th St., Kansas City, Kansas, is open from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 14. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-12. Alcott Arts Center plans reading by Kansas poet laureate


The Alcott Arts Center, 180 S. 18th St., Kansas City, Kansas, plans a reading by Kansas poet laureate Huscar Medina from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 14. Also invited to the performance will be several students from local schools, who will read some of their spoken word pieces. After the performance will be an open mic time. Monarchs baseball game scheduled Saturday evening


The Kansas City Monarchs will play the Sioux City Explorers at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at Legends Field, 1800 Village West Parkway, Kansas City, Kansas. Gates open two hours before the starting time. “Boots and Dukes” is the theme of Saturday night’s game, and attractions will include live country music, a mechanical bull and post-game fireworks.
