Third Saturday Democratic Breakfast planned
The guest speakers at the Wyandotte County Third Saturday Democratic Breakfast on Saturday, Jan. 18, will be State Rep. Pam Curtis, D-32nd Dist., and Teresa Garcia Krusor, Democratic National Committeewoman. Rep. Curtis is the chair of the Wyandotte County legislative delegation. Krusor was vice chair of the Kansas Democratic Party eight years and has been the Democratic National Committeewoman for the past eight years. The breakfast buffet will open at 8:15 a.m., with the program at 9 a.m. at Las Islas Marias, 7516 State Ave. The cost of the buffet is $10; or $6 for students and those on limited incomes. The breakfast is open to all Democrats. No purchase is necessary to attend and listen to the program. Those who are planning to purchase a breakfast are asked to make reservations to [email protected] by Friday, Jan. 17. Students attending the breakfast for their first time can receive a free breakfast paid by a sponsor.

Eagle Days to be Jan. 18-19 at Wyandotte County Lake Park
The 19th annual Eagle Days are scheduled Jan. 18-19 at Wyandotte County Lake Park, 91st and Leavenworth Road, Kansas City, Kansas. The event will be held at the Mr. and Mrs. F.L. Schlagle Library and at the James P. Davis Hall, both within Wyandotte County Lake Park. Hours for Jan. 18 will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and hours on Jan. 19 will be noon to 4 p.m. There will be presentations scheduled throughout the days by Operation Wildlife about the bald eagle and also about other birds of prey. There also will be kid-friendly crafts and eagle and waterfowl viewing. The event is free and open to the public. Family story time planned
Family story time is planned from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 18, at the youth services craft room, Main Kansas City, Kansas, Public Library, 625 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, Kansas. There will be reading, dancing and singing. The story time is geared to children ages 2 to 6.
