Church plans breakfast
Wyandotte United Methodist Church, 7901 Oakland Ave., will have an all-church breakfast from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, July 27, with a free-will donation.

Grinter Friends plan program about their own history July 27
Georgia Howlett will present a program at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 27, at Grinter House, 1420 S. 78th St., Kansas City, Kansas, about how the Junior League helped save the 1857 Grinter House and how volunteerism built the Friend of Grinter event space barn. Early voting to take place Saturday
Early voting for the primary election will take place on Saturday, July 27, at three locations in Wyandotte County. There are three early voting locations: The Wyandotte County Election Office, 850 State Ave., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 27; Joe Amayo-Argentine Recreation Center, 2810 Metropolitan Ave., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 27; and Eisenhower Recreation Center, 2901 N. 72nd St., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 27. Family story time planned
Family story time will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 27, at the craft room, Main Kansas City, Kansas, Public Library, 625 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, Kansas. Spanish singing lessons planned
“Clases de Canto,” or Spanish singing lessons, are planned from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 27, in Conference Room B, South Branch Library, 3104 Strong Ave., Kansas City, Kansas. The Spanish language singing class is taught by Sandra Zamora. For other library programs, visit www.kckpl.org.

S.T.E.A.M. Wars program planned
A S.T.E.A.M. Wars program is planned from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 27, at the West Wyandotte Library, auditorium plus Conference Room A-B, 1737 N. 82nd St., Kansas City, Kansas. Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (S.T.E.A.M.) is the theme of the summer reading wrap-up party. All ages, including children and teens, are invited. Activities are planned, and there will be a costume contest for those wearing space-themed costumes.

African-American Book Club to meet
The African-American Book Club will meet from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 27, at the Main Kansas City, Kansas, Public Library, first floor program room, 625 Minnesota Ave. To be discussed is a book of essays by Phoebe Robinson, “You Can’t Touch My Hair and Other Things I Still Have to Explain.”

Book signing planned at library
A book signing with Calogero Bradley is planned from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, July 27, at the South Branch Library, Conference Room A., 3104 Strong Ave. Bradley, a teen author who is a student at Harmon High School, has written “Vengeance Is Mine: The Reaping.”
