Grinter plans speakers program Saturday, Feb. 9
The Winter Speakers Series continues at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at Grinter Place State Historic Site, 1420 S. 78th St., Kansas City, Kansas. The program will be “Dr. James Naismith: A First-Person Reenactment” by Bill Nicks. The program is free, with doughnuts, coffee and juice provided. There is a charge of $6 for adults and $3 for children of tours of the historic Grinter House afterward.
Valentine-making workshop planned
A Valentine-making workshop is planned from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at the craft room at the Main Kansas City, Kansas, Public Library, 625 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, Kansas. Those attending may make traditional cards or learn to fold origami hearts, boxes and envelopes. All materials will be provided. The program is for ages 8 and up.
