‘Summer of Oz’ events continue
The “Summer of Oz” events continue today, with the performance of “The Wizard of Oz” at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Providence Medical Center amphitheater, 130th and State Avenue. There are also events scheduled throughout Wyandotte County at places including the Wyandotte County Museum, 126th and State; the Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame, 126th and State; Grinter Place, 78th and K-32; the Strawberry Hill Museum, 720 N. 4th; and the Kansas City, Kansas, Public Libraries. Back-to-School Fair planned Aug. 4
A Back-to-School Fair is planned from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at Kansas City Kansas Community College, 7250 State Ave., Kansas City, Kansas. The fair includes free school supplies, free backpacks, free immunizations and physical exams, free student haircuts, free vision screenings and glasses, free dental screening, free snacks and access to community resources. Students who live in Wyandotte County and attend school, both public and private, are welcome. Parents must provide proof of residence in Wyandotte County. Turner’s Back-to-School Bash to be this afternoon
The Turner Recreation Commission and the New Life Family Church will sponsor a Back-to-School Bash from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at the Turner Aquatics Center, 2211 S. 55th St., Kansas City, Kansas.
