Renaissance Festival continues Saturday

Bikers for Babies planned Saturday
Bikers for Babies is planned Saturday, Sept. 16, at the Kansas Speedway at I-70 and I-435 in Kansas City, Kansas. Registration is from 10 a.m. to noon. Union official to speak at Democratic meeting Saturday
The guest speaker at the Wyandotte County Third Saturday Democratic Breakfast on Saturday, Sept. 16, will be Andy Sanchez, executive secretary-treasurer of the Kansas State AFL-CIO. The breakfast will start at 8 a.m., with the program following at 9 a.m. at the Las Islas Marias, 7516 State Ave., Kansas City, Kansas. All Democrats may attend the meeting. The cost for the breakfast is $10, or $6 for students and those on limited incomes. There is a $2 charge for coffee for those not purchasing breakfast. Reservations are requested by Thursday, Sept. 14, to [email protected]. Reservations are not necessary to attend, but are extremely important especially if those attending are purchasing a breakfast.
Sporting KC takes on New England Saturday
Manager Peter Vermes’ men will return home to kick off a four-game homestand that begins Saturday at 7:30 p.m. against the New England Revolution (10-12-5, 35 points) in Kansas City, Kansas. FOX Sports Kansas City and FOX Sports Midwest will televise three hours of live coverage at Children’s Mercy Park beginning at 7 p.m., while local radio calls will air on Sports Radio 810 WHB (English) and La Grande 1340 AM (Spanish). In addition, The Final Whistle postgame show will air immediately after the match on 810 WHB. Tickets for Saturday’s interconference clash are available at SeatGeek.com, and the first 5,000 fans through the stadium gates will receive a free Sporting KC wall decal.
Church plans fiesta
Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 2203 Parallel, plans a parish fiesta from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16. The Saturday evening Spanish-English Mass will begin at 4 p.m. The fiesta will include music, Mexican food and dancing.
